Please remember that unless your student's address information is current and accurate in the District's database, we cannot ensure he or she is scheduled for transportation on the right bus to the right location. Please get to your child's school IMMEDIATELY after changing your address or contact information. That information not only improves the safety of the transportation evolution, it also helps ensure your child receives the appropriate student services and that the District can reach you in the event of an emergency. If you have any questions about this or about any other student transportation matter, please drop us a line.  For your convenience, we've provided webforms on our website that will be directed to a staff member who will quickly respond to your question or concern.

Note: The bus stop locator tool will be updated for the fall term in early August 2017.

Request Bus Transportation Service

In most cases, if you reside in your child's school's attendance zone and your child is eligible for transportation service, you will not need to do anything to schedule that service. However, if you have recently moved in to your child's school's zone, you ought to verify that your child's residence and contact information are current in your school's database. Please verify the currency of that information first and if your child is not shown on transportation rolls, submit a request (WebForm google form.jpg) and we'll take care of it.

Transportation Accommodations

The Escambia County School District is one of the few its size in the State of Florida to permit special transportation accommodations to the extent that it does.  In authorizing these courtesy exceptions, however, the District is adamant about ensuring its parameters do not permit the accounting for students to be compromised.  The District transports 24,000 students on board 300 school buses twice each day, so keeping track of “special cases” requires careful planning and coordination.  In ANY case where a complete and accurate accounting for students is in doubt, the accommodation will not be approved.

A. Parents/guardians may request bus transportation to an after-school child-care facility.  The request will be approved if there is space available on the bus,  the facility is located along the existing bus route, and the duration is five or more consecutive school days.

B. Parents/guardians may request bus transportation on a school bus other than the one assigned to their child to and from an existing bus stop located in their destination school’s attendance zone. The request will be approved if there is space available on the bus and the duration is five or more consecutive days.

C. Parents/guardians may request bus transportation to or from an alternate bus stop along their regular bus route.  Requests will be approved if the duration is five or more consecutive days.

D. Parents/guardians may request bus transportation from outside their destination school attendance zone from an existing bus stop located in their destination school’s attendance zone Requests will be approved on a space available basis.

Requests for transportation accommodation must be renewed with a new request each year.  There are no automatic renewals or permanent approvals due to the fact that space availability must be determined each year and throughout the year.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since accommodations are provided on a space available basis, accommodations may be withdrawn at any time during the school year if students eligible for transportation on the bus need the seat space.
