You can call the FSRBC customer service line beginning September 17, 2018, 1-833-693-7722 from 9 AM to 9PM all year around to find out information about the FSRBC Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans as well as dental, vision and other valuable plans,

Effective January 1, 2015, the District’s benefit plans for Medicare-eligible retirees and their Medicare-eligible spouses will be provided through the Statewide Florida School Retiree Benefits Consortium (FSRBC). This consortium was developed by the Florida Independent Benefits Council in order to provide better pricing and also a full suite of benefits products just for Medicare-eligible individuals.

If you and/or your spouse are age 64 or younger and currently enrolled in one of the SDEC'S Medical Plans,  please note that this plan will no longer be offered by the District once you or your spouse become Medicare eligible.   When you become Medicare eligible, you will be required to enroll in one of the FSRBC Plan options or another Medicare supplement plan to continue coverage.  If you fail to enroll in one of these plans or another Medicare supplement plan, you will not have coverage after you become Medicare eligible. You should receive a packet from FBMC detailing all of the plans offered by the FSRBC in the months before you become Medicare eligible. The FSRBC has different plan options available to you and we would like all SDEC Medicare retirees to review the information on all FSRBC plan options (3 Advantage Plans, 2 Medicare  Supplement Plans, and 2 Part D Plans) and make the selection that would be best suited for you during this Open Enrollment period.

If you and/or your spouse are not yet eligible for Medicare (64 or younger), the SDEC Health Plan will continue to be available to you until you become eligible for Medicare.
