What You Need To Know...
MAFS.912.F-IF.2.4 – For a function that models a relationship between two quantities, Interpret key features of graphs and tables.
- The benchmark will be assessed using Drag and Drop Response, Equation Response, Multiple Choice Response, Table Response or Open Response.
- Key features include: intercepts; intervals where the function is increasing, decreasing, positive or negative; relative maximums and minimums; symmetries; end behavior; and periodicity.
- Items may require students to compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions).
- Items may require students to identify the domain or range of a function in terms of the context or to identify the rate of change.
- Functions can be polynomial, rational, square root, absolute value, piece-wise, exponential or logarithmic.
