Outside Agency Professional Learning Opportunities

Professional development for instructional employees in the Escambia County School District is provided by departments within the Curriculum and Instruction division.  These professional development opportunities are approved following a prescribed approval process based on needs assessments of employees.  Outside organizations often request that our division advertise their professional development opportunities.  However, our needs assessment and approval processes do not include the ability to truly investigate and approve these outside opportunities. Therefore, professional development opportunities offered by outside organizations, including but not limited to online degree programs and non-district sponsored programs, will not be advertised to teachers by personnel within the Curriculum and Instruction Division.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Curriculum and Instruction Division is

  • To provide leadership in developing a district where students want to learn, teachers want to teach, and parents want to send their children.
  • To provide instructional opportunities that engage students at all levels to achieve at their highest potential thereby assuring success in academics and in life after graduation.
