Excellence in Financial Reporting
For the thirteenth consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) and the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) have awarded the District School Board of Escambia County their Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting, respectively, for its 2020 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of both the GFOA and ASBO programs. These awards are the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and represent a significant accomplishment by the School Board and its management.
“The receipt of these awards for the tenth consecutive year indicates our commitment to serving the citizens of Escambia County with prudent financial stewardship of public funds and of our continuous improvement in providing transparency of financial information. Preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report goes well beyond the reporting requirements set forth by the Florida Department of Education and indicates the tremendous dedication of the business staff.
