School Grade Success 2018-2019
Posted 7/15/19

With the release of school and district grades, I want to take a moment to congratulate each of you on the tremendous academic success that was demonstrated in 2018-2019.

Here are a few quick facts about Escambia's school grades:

Comparison of 2018 and 2019:

  2018 2019
A 9 12
B 8 11
C 20 25
D 14 4
F 0
0

92% of Escambia's schools are now rated as 'C' or higher.

There are No 'F' schools and a there was a dramatic reduction in schools scoring a grade of 'D".

8 schools maintained an 'A' from 2018 while 18 schools improved their school grade by one letter or more.

The district grade remains a 'B' school district (the same as 2018).

In celebrating this success, it is important to recognize that this is a shared accomplishment. Congratulations to the students, teachers, administrators, and parents and also to the many other stakeholders that make a positive impact on student success every day.

So many participate in the success of our students. From the bus driver who is often the first school related adult that a student interacts with, to the custodians, cafeteria workers, teacher aides, school nurses, front office staff and the list goes on and on, they all play an important role. Additionally, it is important to recognize the contributions of external stakeholders including but not limited to parents, mentors, school volunteers, PTA’s/PTO’s, local businesses & the community at-large.

Please share my heartfelt congratulations with your teachers, parents, administrators, staff and the entire school community.
