School-Family Compact 2022-2023

We Need Your Feedback!

The School Family Compact is an agreement and commitment between the family and the school to help ensure the success of the student.  The parties to this compact acknowledge that we share the responsibility for improved student achievement.  The principal, parent, teacher, and student have an important role in promoting learning and striving for student success.

For School Employees - Here at Bailey Middle School we believe that all students can learn and be successful. Our purpose is to create an environment which will allow students to understand that learning is a life-long process.  The faculty is committed to providing a rigorous academic program to challenge students in order to prepare them for success in middle school, high school, post-secondary education, and the workplace.

For Families - We realize how important we are to our children’s education. We will support the administration and the teachers especially where it relates to discipline. By showing interest in our children's education, we can support them at home.   We will ensure our children's success by the following:

  • helping my child be on time for school
  • sending my child to school daily unless ill
  • reading 30 minutes every night
  • setting aside a time and place to study and do homework
  • checking homework
  • attending parent involvement activities to support academics
  • scheduling parent-teacher-student conferences in a timely manner
  • accessing students' grades online through FOCUS
  • accessing students' assignment through the school website

For Students - I will do the best I can to succeed.  I will respect the rights of other people. I will work to make my school a safe and pleasant place by following the school and classroom rules, including not using profanity from the time students enter the bus to when they exit the bus at the end of the school day. I will ask for help when I need it.  I would like to have teachers be welcoming so that I feel that I can ask questions without being embarrassed.

For All Parties - We have the right to expect that the other parties to this compact will act responsibly, be respectful of others, and set a good example. This is a partnership among students, faculties, and families.
